IELTS stands for international English language testing standards. It is the most famous English language proficiency test in the world for higher education an global migration. This exam is of great reputation and is accepted by more than 9000 institutions in USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
This exam has two modules – Academic and General training. The academic modules is opted by the candidates who want to pursue education and the general training module is chosen by the candidates who want to immigrate on a permanent basis or for work purposes.
The exam has four modules – listening, reading, writing and speaking. Listening and speaking are common to both the modules. The reading and writing are on the basis of the candidate’s choice of the module. The exam is conducted by two organizations - IDP and British library. It is conducted four times in a month. The listening test is for 30 minutes and has four sections and forty questions. The reading test is for 60 minutes and has 3 sections and 40 questions. The speaking test is for 11 to 14 minutes. The total test time is for 2 hours and 45 minutes.
