WhatsApp 2.19.222 is available for beta testers, and if you have it you can go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Fingerprint lock to use this new feature. After you turn it on, you’ll have to use your fingerprint to unlock each and every time you need to open the application. You can even answer calls if WhatsApp is locked. It’s not so much sure that if you have this version you’ll see the new setting, as it may also be attached to a server-side switch.
