Chardham is a most popular Hindu pilgrimage circuit situated in the state of Uttarakhand in India. Uttarakhand is known as Dev Bhoomi due to its religious importance. Lots of the temples of God and Goddess are situated in Uttarakhand that's why Uttarakhand is known as the land of God. The most religious and important four pilgrimage Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath which are collectively known as Chardham. Chardham becomes one of the most important hubs of devotees in northern India. The Yatra commences from Yamunotri then proceed towards Gangotri and finally reach to Kedarnath and Badrinath. Every year Millions of the devotees from all around the world as well as foreigners take part in the yatra to get the blessings of God and Goddess. Each site is dedicated to a specific deity, Yamunotri is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, Gangotri is dedicated to Goddess Ganga and Kedarnath and Badrinath are dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.

Badrinath: It is a holy destination popularly known for its Badrinath Shrine. It is one of the highest temples of Lord Vishnu in India which also known as Baikunth Dham. Badrinath temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is said that Adi Shankaracharya found a black shaligram idol in Alaknanda River and after that transfer to Badrinath Temple in the 8th century. It also believed that Lord Vishnu meditation here and Goddess Lakshmi converted herself into a berry tree to protect him from Cold and Heat. The shrine holds great faith in the heart of Devotees.

Kedarnath: It is known as one of 12th Jyotirlingams of Lord Shiva in India. It is a most religious shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated in Rudraprayag district in the state of Uttarakhand. The existence of the Kedarnath temple is the result of the Pandavas search of Lord Shiva. It is said that Adi Shankaracharya only found Kedarnath temple in the 8th century but it was established by Pandavas. It is said that when Pandavas killed all his own brothers in war then they feel guilty and want to wash all the sins. Then they start worship of Lord Shiva but they refused their request and converted himself into a bull and tried to run away. Bhima one of Pandavas was able to catch the Hump of Bull. The rest part of the bull appeared in the different part of Kedarnath is called Panch Badri.

Yamunotri: It is a religious part of Chardham dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Yamunotri is the first stoppage during the yatra. It is said that she is the daughter of God Sun and sister of Lord Yama (God of Death). The temple is offered 6 km beautiful trekking routes from Janki Chatti to reach Yamunotri. It is said that once Yamunotri was the home of great sage Asti Muni. He used to take bath daily in both Yamuna and Ganga River. But when he became old and unable to reach Gangotri then a stream of Ganga appeared the opposite site of Yamuna River.

Gangotri: It is a Hindu pilgrimage destination which is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. River Ganga is one of the most sacred rivers in India holds great faith among devotes. It is the second stopover during Chardham Yatra and a religious part of them. The Gangotri temple was built by the Gorkha Commander Amar Singh Thapa in the 19th century. The existence of Ganga River is the result of Bhagirathi Search of Goddess Ganga. It is said that King Bhagirath did serious penance to impress Goddess Ganga for Moksha his ancestor.
